Dr. Sarah L. Spooner
Background
I have a Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences & Education Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a Masters Degree and PhD in Environmental Economics from the University of York.
​
Starting my zoo career as a keeper and animal trainer/presenter, I moved through various roles including Education Officer, Research and Conservation Education Manager, and Conservation Research Fellow.
​
I am a qualified teacher and lecturer and have held various academic roles.
Current areas of focus
I specialise in using interdisciplinary approaches to evaluate impact.
Recent projects have included: conducting systematic reviews, investigating animal-human interactions and human-wildlife conflict, assessing the value and impact of zoos and aquariums.
